KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable that reduces and improves the appearance of submental fullness or the “double-chin.” Submental fullness is a common aesthetic condition caused by weight gain, genetics, or aging.
KYBELLA® is a formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body. Using this natural acid to breakdown and absorb fat, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of adipocytes (fat cells). Once destroyed, the fat cells cannot store fat.
How long does a kybella treatment take?
At your initial consultation, our injection specialist will address the area of concern and go over any questions you may have and proceed with the treatment if you are considered to be a good candidate, this will take 30-45 minutes. Follow-up treatments typically take 20-30 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different. Here at Pure Lux Medspa located just south of Minneapolis, we evaluate each patient’s needs and customize their treatment based on the amount of submental fat each patient has, as well as the patient’s desired chin profile. Sessions are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. 2-6 treatments are required to achieve a full correction.
